- Replication is the process of pressing a disc containing music, video or data from a glass master.
- CD/DVD replication is used for all CD and DVD runs of 500 or more.
- The surface of replicated discs can be screen printed or offset printed in full colour or spot colours.
- Depending on the quantity of discs required, Implant uses local or offshore manufacturing plants.
- CD Audio replication is carried out to Red-Book standards. For further information on Red Book standard please visit: Wikipedia
- DVD replication can be done as DVD-5, DVD-9 or DVD-10.
- The turnaround time for most replication runs is around 7-10 working days (2 weeks).
- Turnaround times depend on the details of your order and the time of the year.
Replicated CDs are printed using the screen printing or offset printing process. If your design involves large areas of flat colour we recommend that you setup the art in spot colours.

The following are required before a replication job can begin:
- a copy of the master CD/DVD burned at slow speed (no faster than x8/x4 speed)
- digital or chemical printed proofs of all artwork (please note that perfect colour matching to these proofs cannot always be guaranteed)
- a completed and signed Implant order form
- jobs for businesses must be accompanied by an official purchase order
- 50% of total payment is required before replication jobs begin. The balance is paid on completion of the job.
Please note that for replication runs of 500 to 1000 discs the quantity supplied on completion may vary by + or - 10%. These additional discs are known as overprints. Overprints are produced because industrial disc replication quality control standards require that slightly more than the ordered disc quantity needs to be pressed. This is standard practice across the replication industry. Replication charges therefore reflect the number of units supplied.
